The Music Ministry is comprised of three choirs (Gospel Choir, Male Chorus and Youth Choir). These various choirs are taught by the Minister of Music in order to offer a well-prepared musical presentation during the collective worship of the church. This ministry is vital to the effectiveness of worship, because music is such an integral component of worship.
Media Ministry
The Beth-el Missionary Baptist Church Media Department’s Mission Statement is: “We shall freely offer hospitality to one another and use whatever gifts we have earned to oblige others – as faithful servants and stewards in God’s work and service. For each of us who are devoted to serve, shall do so through God’s grace and atonement, by praise and commitment to His Son, Jesus Christ.”

These special events may include church funerals, workshops, or concerts. The music ministry team generates and monitors church services, programs, and events through online live streaming; and generates, display, and monitors church song lyrics, sermon notes, church and events announcements on live media displays throughout the Church.
Additionally, the Beth-el media ministry team offers comprehensive video and audio presentations to those church members that are confined to their homes for any period of time.
The Beth-el media ministry team members are very knowledgeable and skilled in the latest media technology and present an ongoing thirst for advanced knowledge and expertise in the area of media technology. They are dedicated, committed, and reliable instruments of God’s work and service in their very important and valuable capacity as Beth-el media ministry team members.
Usher Ministry
The Usher Ministry serves to maintain order within the worship services of the church. Participants in this ministry are taught the various signs of ushering in order to perform their duties effectively. This ministry is vital to the church in that it assists the pastor and membership in carrying out a “smooth” collective worship.
Food Service Ministry
The food service ministry works to prepare and serve meals that are shared during the fellowship of the church. Events such as funerals, luncheons, and fellowships for special events are coordinated and carried out by the Food Service Ministry. Participants in this ministry must have a heart of service in order to work effectively in such an area.
Transportation Ministry
This ministry is to provide the program and personnel for the transportation of children, the elderly, handicapped and others who may need transportation to or from any church program or activity.
Pastor’s Aid Ministry
This ministry functions to aid the pastor and his family spiritually through prayer and financially with gifts.
Evangelism Ministry
This ministry works to make sure that Bethel is a Great Commission Church. This ministry works outside the four walls of the church to reach the lost within the surrounding community. Participants in this ministry must undergo special training in how to share their faith. These classes are scheduled and conducted by the pastor as the need to train new workers in this ministry arises.
Compassion Pantry
The Compassion Pantry is a ministry of Beth-el aimed at meeting the physical needs of those who do not have sufficient food. This ministry collects and organizes the canned goods that are donated to the church. These goods are then disbursed to people in need as those needs are presented to the church.
Clothes Closet
Much like the Compassion Pantry, this ministry is aimed at meeting the physical needs of others. The clothing items that are donated to the church are organized and disbursed to the needy as those needs are made known to the church.
College Ministry
The goal of the College Outreach ministry is to reach out to local collegiate students to build on our 4G initiative 1) Get them - build community and celebrate the Gospel through fellowship, 2) Grow them – help them develop a closer spiritual relationship with Christ, 3) Guide them – take on responsibilities within the church and discipleship in the community, and then 4) Give them away – as they graduate and leave they will have a foundation of discipleship and service to share with the world.
Initial objectives include plugging into campus life through outreach activities to invite students to worship with us and providing scheduled transportation to and from campus for worship services and bible study. Secondly, we hope to involve all members by establishing an adopt-a-student program and designate the third Sunday as College Student day including providing a fellowship lunch.
Christian Education Department
The Christian Education Department of Beth-el works to plan and organize specific training opportunities for the membership of the church. Representatives from the Sunday School, Nurturing Baptist Churches, Deacon Ministry and the pastor work on the Christian Education Committee.
Sunday School
As the name implies, the Sunday School is a ministry that meets on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. This is a teaching arm of the church that works from a nationally structured curriculum and carries students through the Bible. Classes in Sunday School are divided by age and offer age sensitive teaching.
Nurturing Baptist Churches
This ministry functions to teach the membership the beliefs that make Beth-el a “Baptist Church.” Our Baptist name and affiliation is not something that we hide, but we teach in order to help the membership understand the distinct biblical positions of the Baptist faith.
Bible Study
Each week, the church meets in a less formal setting in order to study God’s Word. This Bible study time usually follows a prayer service in which the members come together and pray over various issues. Bible study is normally held on Wednesday night. There are currently three classes that meet for Bible study on Wednesday night. Those classes are 12 and under, 13-18, and 18 and up. Wonderful teachers work with the two younger classes and the adult class is usually taught by the pastor.
Counseling / Bully Ministry
Our mission is to collaborate with the law enforcement, school board organizations, families in crisis, to serve our community problems. Our goal is to develop a behavioral modification program that addresses the need of the community. Through workshops dealing with issues at home, school, and the Youth Court System, we plan to address issues such as anger management, drug and alcohol awareness, bullying, and proper parenting skills. Our motto is “Rehabilitation rather than incarceration.”
